Written Planning Advice
Seeking Written Planning Advice allows Council to consider the proposal and provide greater clarity more thoroughly. Planning advice can be legally binding. It is important that this is provided in writing and based on a clear written description of what is proposed by the potential applicant. Planning advice can only be provided by a delegated Planning Officer.
To seek Written Planning Advice, you will need to access a current Certificate of Title or Planning certificate at www.landata.vic.gov.au
Planning Permits are separate to those issued under Local Laws, Building or Environmental Health.
Pre-Application Meetings
A pre-application meeting seeks to give advice on more complex Planning applications before they are formally submitted. We suggest booking a pre-application meeting during the design process so we can help you to resolve issues that might arise during the formal application.
Council recommends a face-to-face pre-application meeting if you have a major or complex development proposal, or if you have never lodged a planning application before.
If your proposal or question is simple, you may not require a face-to-face meeting. You can speak to a member of our Planning Support Team for free general verbal advice.
