Check out the Council-supported events happening throughout October to celebrate Seniors Month.
There are a number of events happening around South Gippsland to celebrate our older community members. South Gippsland Shire Council has supported the following five events.

Loch Hooves to Heart - A morning with horses |
Dates: Tuesday 8 October and Tuesday 22 October. Time: 10.00am to 11.30am. Location: The Horse Within Equine Assisted Therapy (240 Loch-Poowong Road, Loch). Bookings essential - limited places available. Phone 0433 764 078 to book. Additional Details: Join us for a unique experience at the The Horse Within! Meet the horses up close and hear how equine-assisted therapy benefits people of all ages. Get to know each horse’s personality, learn how they connect as herd animals, and reflect on what makes you feel safe and connected. You’ll also have the chance to groom, pat, or share your own special stories of connection with animals. |

Date: Thursday 10 October. Time: 1.00pm. Location: Milpara Community House (Korumburra Community Hub), 15 Little Commercial Street, Korumburra. |

Leongatha Seniors Week Entertainment |
Date: Friday 11 October. Time: 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Location: Leongatha Senior Citizens Centre (Daker Centre). Additional Details: Entertainment by Travelling 2&1 (Graham Drury, Phil Benson and Maya) performing Country Western music. For larger groups attending, please contact 0400 574 923 to register your group's attendance. |

Foster Seniors U3A Prom Coast Performing Arts Concert Singalong |
Date: Wednesday 23 October. Time: 10.00am to 12.30pm. Location: Foster War Memorial Arts Centre. Additional Details: A free event for seniors, morning tea provided. U3A classes demonstrating a Circle Dance with Lois Frankland, Dance for Exercise with Tania Bird, Singing for Pleasure with Francesca Dickinson, Uke 3A Ukulele Singalong with Dave Martin, and a special performance by Lynne Muir singing and playing her Appalachian dulcimer. Mirboo North 2024 Seniors Month Lunch |
Date: Monday 28 October. Time: 12.00pm. Location: Mirboo North Hotel. Additional Details: Seniors Lunch $22 with complimentary coffee and slices. Lucky door prizes and raffle. Register your attendance by contacting Mary Baker on 0417 148 619 by Wednesday 23 October for catering purposes. |
Milpara Community House are also hosting:
- Chair Yoga on Tuesday 8 October from 10.00am to 11.00am.
- Qigong on Tuesday 15 October from 10.00am to 11.00am.
- Tai Chi for Arthritis on every Wednesday from 10 October to 31 October from 10.30am to 11.30am.
