Kindergarten in South Gippsland

Kindergarten is two years of early education for children before they start primary school. It gives your child important opportunities to learn, make friends and develop skills through a play-based curriculum. It also helps prepare your child for their transition to primary school.

Registrations for three- and four-year-old kindergarten open on 1 May each year for children that will start kindergarten the following year. To register, you will need an up-to-date copy of your Immunisation History Statement.

South Gippsland Shire Council manages kindergarten registrations for children at community and not-for-profit kindergartens.

Register for Kindergarten

Round One Registrations

Dates: 1 May to 30 June.

Offers: First week of August.


 

Round Two Registrations

Dates: 1 July to 31 August.

Offers: First week of October.


 

Subsequent Registrations

After September, registrations will be processed weekly or on an as-needed basis. This round includes families living outside the South Gippsland Shire.
