Kindergarten Government Policies

From 2023, all children in Victoria eligible for three- and four-year-old kindergarten can access Free Kinder when attending a participating kindergarten. This is available at both standalone (sessional) kindergartens and long day care (childcare) centres.

All kindergarten services participating in central registration offer Free Kinder if your child attends the sessional kindergarten programs. If the kindergarten programs offer before or after kindergarten care, or they are attending as part of a long day care program, there will be additional costs. These costs vary and need to be discussed with your preferred kindergarten service.
