Power Outages

Showers

  • South Gippsland Splash - 52A Roughead St, Leongatha
    The YMCA team be on site from 7.00am to 5.30pm today if you need a shower or to charge devices.  

  • Foster Basketball Stadium - Station Rd, Foster
    Open from 7.00am until 11.00am for showers and device charging. Please access the stadium from the rear of the building (through the gate closest to the Hospital).

Please bring your own towels and soaps and shampoos and your device charger.

Phone and device charging is available (please BYO charger) at:

  • Foster Visitor Information Centre: 10.00am to 4.00pm.

  • Manna Gum Community House: 10.00am to 3.00pm.

  • Welshpool Community Library: 10.00am to 3.00pm.

  • Welshpool RTC: 10.00am to 3.00pm.

  • Mirboo North Community Foundation: 10.00am to 3.00pm.

  • Leongatha Library: 10.00am to 6.00pm. 

  • Korumburra Library: 9.30am to 5.00pm.

  • Korumburra Community Hub (warm space, power, internet, lights, phone charging, a hot meal, or a warm drink) until 4.00pm.

Food Safety 

In emergency situations such as power failures, it is important good food safety practices are continually followed to avoid food poisoning. Find out more at: https://www.health.vic.gov.au/environmental-health/bushfires-and-public-health

Assistance

If you need some extra help after the storm, the following agencies may be able to help:

  • Salvation Army, Leongatha - can provide emergency relief food parcels. No appointment required. The centre is open on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10.00am and 3.00pm (closed between 12.00pm and 1.00pm).
  • Manna Gum Community House, Foster - can provide Emergency Relief, referrals as an outreach service of the Salvation Army, and workspaces/free WiFi available Monday to Friday between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
  • Milpara Community House at the Korumburra Community Hub - offers a warm space, power, internet, lights, phone charging, a hot meal or warm drink Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 4.00pm.
