About
South Gippsland Shire Council recently purchased the property at 27 Commercial Street, Korumburra (previous Newsagency) with the intent to transform it into a public space and walkway from Commercial Street to the Korumburra Community Hub.
The project is intended to encourage pedestrian movement around the town centre of Korumburra, making it easier for the community to access facilities and additional car parking.
Features
- Lighting and CCTV to ensure visibility and safety.
- Opportunity for future public art or murals.

- Landscaping consistent with the streetscape works and Korumburra Community Hub, including mudstone boulders, planting and drainage.
- Realignment of the kerb and pram crossing on Little Commercial Street for improved access to the Korumburra Community Hub.
Timeframe
The project is expected to start in early 2025, with completion expected in mid-2025.
Funding
Funded through the Korumburra Streetscape Project.
