Where does it go?

Kerbside recycling is sent to Visy Recycling in Melbourne. It is collected and sorted into material types - such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals. It is then processed and recycled into sustainable packaging.

All recyclable materials should be placed loose in your bin. Do not bundle papers or put recyclables in plastic bags, as they will be sent to landfill.

 
What items can go in my bin?
  • Rigid plastics codes 1 - 7
  • Cardboard & paper
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Aerosols
  • Tin cans
  • Aluminium foil & cans

What items can't go in my bin?

  • No plastic bags, plastic wrap, polystyrene
  • No pyrex, crockery or broken glass
  • No garbage
  • No green waste or food scraps
  • No nappies
  • No clothing or fabric
