Kindergarten FAQs - What are the kindergarten registration dates and how do I register?

To register, simply complete the online registration form. You need to complete that form for each child you need to register for the following year. If you need help completing the registration form, please contact our Kindergarten Registration team on 5662 9200.

Once you've completed the form, you'll receive an email confirming your registration has been received. You might receive emails from Council during the registration and allocation process seeking further information.

The key dates for kinder registrations are listed below.

1 May	First round registrations open.
30 June	First round registrations close. You can still register for kindergarten after this date, but you won't receive an offer until the second round.
1 to 31 July	South Gippsland Shire Council and kindergarten providers review the first round registrations and allocate kindergarten places. We cannot provide updates on the progress of your allocation during this process.
First week of August	First round offers are made to families. You will have 14 days to respond to your offer.
31 August	Second round offers close. You can still register for kindergarten after this date, but you won't receive an offer until after the second round of registrations have been finalised.
First week of October	Second round offers are made to families. You will have 14 days to respond to your offer.
Mid-October	Third round offers are processed on a weekly basis following the acceptance. This round includes registrations from families that live outside of the South Gippsland Shire.
