Community Directory - SMART Recovery Foster

SMART Recovery is an evidence-based, FREE group program assisting people with problematic behaviours, including addiction to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, food, shopping, internet and others.

The group is friendly and open, based on principles of self-help and mutual aid, and run by trained facilitators using cognitive behavioural therapy and motivational interviewing techniques.

This group offers a local opportunity to access group support for addiction – participants are welcome to check it out with no referral required. The idea is to focus on the present and future, setting manageable goals with assistance from facilitators and the broader group. The model addresses motivation, coping with urges, problem solving and working toward lifestyle balance.
