Leongatha Cycling Club conducts road and track cycling events in South Gippsland and the Bass Coast areas. Track cycling is held at the Leongatha Velodrome during summer.
Training is on Wednesday nights at 6.30pm while racing is held on Friday nights from 7.30pm. Club track bikes are available for use and junior riders are strongly encouraged to participate. All levels are catered for with a range of handicap races, time trials and novelty events.
The road season runs from April to September at a variety of venues around the South Gippsland/Bass Coast area. Races are usually held on Saturday and start at 2pm. Most riders arrive at about 1pm to register and warm up. Circuits range from 30km to 50km and are a mix of handicap events and graded scratch races. Junior riders also compete in road racing over shorter distances, usually while the senior race is on. All riders must have a valid Cycling Australia licence or a day permit to compete.
