1870's | Farm selections were taken up around future township then known as Lang Lang East. |
1883 |
Lang Lang East Primary School opened. During the planning stages of the Great Southern Railway, Lang Lang East station was called Nyora. |
1886 | The Nyora township was proclaimed. |
1890 | The railway reached Nyora. |
1893 | Post office, blacksmiths, hotel andd a hall had been established. |
1910 | Nyora station became a junction stop to change trains to the Bass Valley dairy towns. |
1960 | Speedway was opened next to the recreation oval. |
1978 | Railway to Wonthaggi closed. |
1993 | Great Southern Railway closed. |
